My Story
Request a Painting
In March 2025, I experienced an unforgettable moment with the opening of my first solo exhibition, “Happy Bubbles”, in St Lucia, Brisbane. It was much more than an art show — it was a dream come true. I shared a collection deeply inspired by the Australian ocean, coral reefs, and the magical feeling of floating through bubbles while snorkeling. Each piece reflected joy, freedom, and the creative rebirth I experienced after arriving in this country.

The space was filled with color, emotion, and love. I was surrounded by dear friends, local artists, the Chilean consul and former consul, and my family — the true engine behind everything I do. It was a bright and heartfelt morning where art brought people together and reminded me that when you dare to follow your passion, life responds with unexpected beauty.

My story
I’m Karin Melzer, a visual artist from Chile, currently living in Brisbane, Australia. My artistic journey began as a way to adapt and express myself after moving to this new country with my family. Amid the process of building a new life and raising my four children, painting became my personal space — a place of freedom, color, and emotion.
My work is deeply inspired by the Australian landscape, especially the ocean, its coral reefs, and the bubbles that float beneath the surface. From this connection, my collections Happy Bubbles and Dark Bubbles were born — exploring both joy and lightness, as well as deeper, more introspective emotions, always through the symbol of the bubble.
Painting has become my way of communicating the invisible, transforming experience into color, and sharing beauty and feeling with the world.
